Senior Manager, Transportation Design

ATCS is seeking a highly motivated, multi-faceted Transportation Design Lead to join our team! • Working as an embedded ATCS employee at NCDOT Century Center 2-3 days a week performing GESC project management duties on an as needed basis.
• Technical designer for a variety of civil engineering transportation projects.
• Preparing design calculations using appropriate software, roadways and site improvements.
• Work under senior level engineers and managers to provide innovative design solutions and solve project challenges.
• Communicate with internal and external clients to ensure effective engineering design solutions.
• Work in a team environment between multiple disciplines on a daily basis.
• Perform quality assurance and quality reviews of design plans, specifications, and estimates.
• Occasionally travel to other offices and project sites as needed.

• Bachelor’s Degree Civil Engineering from ABET accredited engineering program.
• Minimum of 20+ years of experience in roadway/transportation design – preferably in North Carolina.
• Demonstrate working ability with design and modeling computer software – Micro Station and Open Roads Designer.
• Familiarity with AASHTO, NCDOT and regional design standards, practices and policies.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate with others.

Our employees are the most critical part of ATCS. For this position, we offer a competitive salary range of $100,000 to $140,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications. The role is also eligible for an annual bonus, with a target 2% of the employee's annualized salary.
