Overview

The Registered Polysomnographic Technologist performs comprehensive overnight sleep studies and provides exceptional patient care throughout the testing process. This role includes patient education, data acquisition, scoring and analysis, and collaboration with physicians and clinical teams.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Greet and orient patients to the Sleep Lab environment.
  • Explain pre-testing, testing, and post-testing procedures clearly and compassionately.
  • Address patient questions and concerns, referring to providers when appropriate.
  • Review patient history, medications, procedure requests, and study protocols.
  • Perform and verify accurate documentation and data integrity.
  • Conduct calibrations, monitor data collection, and assist patients with post-study paperwork.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in Polysomnographic testing and equipment usage.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, physicians, and team members.
  • May serve as team lead when needed.
Qualifications:
  • Required: Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) credential
  • Preferred: Prior experience in a clinical sleep lab setting
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
