Buyer Planner

We are seeking an experienced Buyer Planner to join a dynamic Supply Chain team. This role is responsible for managing material demand planning, inventory lifecycle management, forecasting, supplier collaboration, and supply chain optimization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in inventory planning, ERP systems, and cross-functional stakeholder management.

• Manage inventory across the business unit, including projections, reconciliation, tracking, and returns processing.
• Develop and maintain accurate demand forecasts and execution plans to support business objectives.
• Analyze inventory exposure and provide reporting on forecast accuracy, timeliness, and inventory liability.
• Lead efforts related to new product introductions, product transitions, and end-of-life planning.
• Develop strategies for spare parts management and supplier inventory planning.
• Collaborate with suppliers, sourcing teams, field operations, business partners, and accounting to support forecasting and procurement activities.
• Resolve discrepancies between forecasted and actual product demand.
• Support supplier management initiatives and drive utilization of preferred suppliers.
• Perform excess and obsolete inventory analysis and present recommendations to key stakeholders.
• Assist in improving forecast-to-order processes and implementing effective controls.
• Apply long-term lifecycle management strategies to support material planning in a multi-year environment.

• 5+ years of experience in material demand planning, inventory management, or supply chain planning.
• Strong experience managing inventory life cycles, forecasting, and excess/obsolete material analysis.
• Experience working with Oracle or another ERP platform.
• Previous customer service experience with a focus on stakeholder support and issue resolution.
• Proven ability to collaborate across multiple teams and functions.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and reporting skills.
• Experience supporting supply chain lifecycle strategies, including product introductions and obsolescence planning.

• Experience in procurement, buyer planning, or supply chain operations.
• Experience working closely with strategic sourcing and supplier management teams.
• Advanced Excel and data analysis skills.
• Strong communication and relationship-building abilities.

• A strategic mindset with the ability to balance short-term execution and long-term planning.
• Strong attention to detail and inventory management expertise.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities.
• Effective collaboration skills across suppliers, operations, sourcing, finance, and business stakeholders.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cary, NC.

The pay range for this position is $32.42 - $32.42/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
