WCPL is hiring an Adult Services Manager for its Cary Regional Library
, located in downtown Cary, NC. In this role you will work as part of a management team at the library, and more specifically,
supervise a team of dedicated Librarians and Library Assistants who work in the Adult Services department
. You will also collaborate with your peers and Librarians across the system to create and promote quality adult services and programs.
- Supervise a team of Librarians and Library Assistants in providing excellent library service, dynamic programs and professional one-on-one assistance to adults.
- Work as part of the library's management team to oversee operations and act as Manager on Duty in the absence of the Library Branch Manager.
- Work with library staff, peers and librarians across the system to support and promote system goals and initiatives.

Education and Experience )
- Master's degree in Librarianship or related field: MLS, MLIS, MIS, ML from an ALA accredited program or NC program
- One year of experience as a Librarian
- Equivalent education and experience are NOT accepted

- Three years of professional public library experience
- One year of public library management or supervision
- Fluency in a language other than English
- Demonstrates excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills.
- Ability to build and maintain positive, respectful relationships with staff, peers, colleagues, and public.
- Ability to lead and motivate staff while fostering mentoring relationships.
- Ability to plan and implement in a dynamic, fast-paced environment using a collaborative approach.
- Ability to create vision and goals on a local level that support larger organizational goals.
- Demonstrates a high degree of adaptability and strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to be proactive and work both independently and with a team.
- Knowledge of public library trends, especially in adult services.

Hiring Range: $69,421-$$93,722
