Essential Duties
  • Follow all company policies and take necessary precautions to ensure safety.
  • Produce products following food safety practices and procedures, meet product specifications for proper quality prior to shipment, and report deficiencies to management.
  • Embody La Farm values through action, example, and communication:

  • Ensure bread and pastry production areas meet sanitary conditions conducive to processing safe products.
  • Use equipment and industrial sanitizers to bring equipment back to an FDA‑compliant degree of cleanliness, with a primary focus on safety.
  • Follow all safety rules and company policies.
  • Follow established procedures for the cleaning, rinsing, foaming, steaming and sanitizing of equipment, containers and the facility.
  • Follow safety procedures to ensure the safe handling of chemicals and equipment.
  • Measure and mix chemicals per established procedures.
  • Follow respective titration.
  • Document chemical usage and titration according to policy.
  • Observe equipment usage and report any deficiency, safety concerns, food safety, or constraints to management.
  • Follow all product standards, guidelines, and FDA cGMP (current good manufacturing practices).
  • Maintain work area clean and well‑maintained.
  • Communicate any unusual or special sanitation opportunities to management.
  • Perform inspections of the equipment that is cleaned and sanitized before, during and after the sanitation process.
  • At times may be responsible for driving special equipment such as forklifts or scissor lifts (upon receiving specialized training).
  • Perform daily preoperational inspections of assigned area after cleaning.
  • Perform weekly ATP swabs and reports.
  • Operate production equipment correctly to facilitate proper cleaning.
  • Record work performed on Sanitation Schedule.
  • Maintain dumpster area in a clean and orderly condition.
  • Receive written and verbal instructions on the above job tasks and perform other duties as directed by management.
  • Work inside and outside the facility, subject to significant seasonal temperature variations and intermittent wetting from some job tasks.
Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Required: 1 year of experience in sanitation, janitorial, or industrial cleaning or another related field.
  • Required: Ability to communicate with team members, company managers, customer staff, and government officials.
  • Required: Ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization, including management, supervisory and entry‑level hourly employees.
  • Preferred: 2+ years of experience in the bakery industry.
Position Requirements (Specialized Skills/License/Certification)
  • Required: Must be 21 years of age.
  • Required: Must possess sound knowledge of steps to sanitary restoration.
  • Required: Must be knowledgeable in industrial safety practices such as Lock Out/Tag Out, HAZCOMM, and other areas, with verifiable education in industrial safety or a combination of experience and education.
  • Required: Must be legally employable in the United States and project a professional appearance and attitude.
  • Preferred: Bilingual (English/Spanish) highly preferred.
Essential Physical Demands
  • Willing to work all shifts including nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Willing to work in all environmental conditions that exist in food processing plants (hot, cold, loud, and wet).
  • Ability to bend and lift 50 lbs.
  • Climbing ladders.
  • Handling cleaning chemicals.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
  • Continuous use of hands and arms.
  • Continuous bending, reaching, and twisting.
