General Description

Leads and behaves according to Potbelly Values. Manages and develops Associates to execute outstanding product quality and customer service, build sales, and control costs for each shift. Follows standard Potbelly operating policies, procedures, and tools with focus on:

Focus Areas People
  • Lead Associates to run shifts, assign tasks, provide feedback and training.
  • Ensure station training programs are executed to standard.
  • Know and follow personnel policies, labor laws, safety, and security procedures.
  • Lead Associates to complete opening/closing/transition duties independently.
  • Maintain a positive, respectful, and professional work environment.
  • Report employee issues and concerns to the General Manager.
Customers
  • Provide fast, friendly, and accurate service.
  • Empower Associates to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Follow all food safety practices.
  • Handle customer complaints effectively.
Sales
  • Manage line organization and delegate duties.
  • Uphold product quality standards.
  • Work on the line and resolve service issues.
  • Meet back-of-the-house standards.
  • Promote sales through shift execution of marketing plans.
Profits
  • Control food costs, labor, waste, and cash.
  • Count drawers and follow cash handling procedures.
Physical Requirements
  • Stand/walk for 9-10 hours/day.
  • Mobility for up to five hours.
  • Lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Perform reaching, bending, stooping, carrying, and data entry.
  • Work indoors (95%) and outdoors (5%) in varying temperatures.
  • Tolerate noise and potential allergens.
  • Oversee a fast-paced, high-volume restaurant environment.
Experience and Education
  • Must embody Potbelly Values.
  • Must be 18+ years old.
  • At least 1-year supervisory experience preferred.
  • High School diploma required.
  • Flexible schedule including some opening/closing shifts.
  • Complete Food Safety Manager course and exam as required.
  • Reliable transportation required.
