Overview

Sports & Social Cary is a one-of-a-kind sports bar and social lounge located in downtown Cary. The location features multiple TV screens, state-of-the-art AV technology, an LED display showing several games and sporting events, and an elevated dining and beverage experience with made-from-scratch menu items and curated cocktails, live music, special events several days a week, and interactive social games.

Responsibilities
  • Greet all guests and take beverage and food orders in a prompt and professional manner.
  • Serve cocktails and/or menu items to bar guests; up-sell when taking orders.
  • Maintain energy and professionalism; be energetic, outgoing, and fun while providing outstanding service.
  • Provide outstanding and professional service with a smile to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Communicate effectively with co-workers and kitchen staff, both verbally and using the point of sale system.
  • Communicate with guests clearly, patiently, and with good humor.
  • Be well-versed in all concept products and menu items to guide the guest experience and sell food and beverage items.
  • Consistently check guests' identification to ensure minimum age requirements for alcohol are met.
  • Monitor guest behavior and level of alcohol consumption and determine when service should cease; notify management of incidents involving excessive consumption or impairment.
  • Complete all assigned side work accurately and on time.
  • Accurately account for all sales and payments from guests.
  • Alert management to any service or safety issues and perform appropriate service recovery as needed.
  • Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other departments.
  • Coordinate with bartenders and kitchen for ordering and receipt of food and beverages.
Qualifications
  • At least 1 year of serving in a fast-paced food and beverage venue, preferably a nightclub environment.
  • Knowledge of liquor brands, beer, wine, champagne, non-alcoholic beverages, designated glassware, preparation methods, and garnishes preferred.
  • Must meet state legal age requirements.
  • Must speak fluent English; other languages preferred.
  • Courteous, pleasant, and good-natured personality.
  • Strong communication skills for interactions with guests, bartenders, wait staff, cooks, and supervisors.
  • Alcohol awareness certification and/or food service permit or valid health/food handler card as required by local or state regulations.
  • Reading and writing abilities; basic math skills for handling cash and credit.
  • May be required to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays.

Job Requirements
  • Handling, carrying, or lifting items weighing up to 50 pounds (bar ware, carts, boxes, bottles, etc.).
  • Ability to stand and move about the facility for the entire shift.
  • Handling food, objects, products, and utensils effectively and safely.
  • Bending, stooping, kneeling, lifting.
