Responsibilities

  • Seek out new customers and partner with existing ones by offering a variety of solutions to improve their business and take exceptional care of your clients.
  • Meet or exceed sales targets.
  • Manage assigned sales territory and grow sales pipeline
  • Establish and strengthen relationships with decision makers for current and potential clients.
  • Develop customer pricing, proposals, and contracts.
  • Follow-up on leads and sales inquiries generated by direct marketing initiatives.
  • Attend and manage company sponsor ships at industry conferences and associations.
  • Maintain timely, complete, and accurate summary of revenue opportunities and pipeline information in CRM system.
  • Excellent consultative sales skills with experience in all facets of the sales process.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; including presentation skills.
  • Strong team player who can build effective working relationships at all levels of organizations.
  • Self-starter with a high sense of urgency, self-confidence, and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with people individually, or in a team-oriented and cooperative environment.
  • Ability to travel up to 20%, including Canada and Mexico.
Education, experience, certification/training
  • Bachelor’s level degree in Sales, Marketing, Business Administration, or related discipline.
  • Experience in TMS sales, logistics, supply chain management and/or rail operations is a significant plus.
  • Proven track record of networking and building long-term business relationships with clients.

Physical Requirements
  • Sedentary work

    Assignment involves sitting at workstation (desk) most of the time (up to 8 hours) with only occasional walking and/or standing

  • Environment

    Because the requirements of this position require frequent, often informal collaboration with other Railinc colleagues and external stakeholders, and to maximize the development of the skills and responsibilities essential for this position, Railinc expects that the work required of this role be performed predominantly in the office consistent with Railinc’s in-the-office work policies, as communicated by Human Resources and/or Senior Management.

    Any individual variations on in-the-office work policies will be reviewed by Human Resources on a case-by-case basis. As work is performed predominantly within an office setting, there is no substantial exposure to adverse environmental conditions (i.e., extreme heat, cold, noise, etc.).
