Full Time Sales Johnson Subaru of Cary, Cary, NC, US

2 days ago Requisition

Turn great conversations into great customer experiences and build a rewarding career along the way!

Johnson Subaru of Cary is growing, and we're looking for motivated, personable Automotive Sales Consultants to join our team.

You don't have to come from the automotive industry to be successful here. Some of the qualities that make an exceptional Sales Consultant - hospitality, communication, curiosity, relationship building, follow-through, and a genuine desire to help people - translate from many different careers.

If you're driven by goals, enjoy connecting with people, and want a career where your effort and performance can directly influence your success, we'd like to meet you.

What You'll Do

As a Sales Consultant, you'll guide guests through one of their most significant purchasing decisions, from the first conversation through vehicle delivery and beyond.

You'll take the time to understand what each guest actually needs, help them explore their options, become a knowledgeable resource on our vehicles, and create an experience that earns their trust and their future business.

Responsibilities include:

  • Welcome guests and create a professional, comfortable, and engaging sales experience.
  • Ask thoughtful questions to understand each guest's transportation needs, preferences, lifestyle, and budget.
  • Help guests select new and pre-owned vehicles that fit their individual needs.
  • Present and demonstrate vehicle features, technology, safety systems, and ownership benefits.
  • Conduct professional and informative test drives.
  • Assist guests in evaluating purchase, lease, and trade-in options.
  • Prepare and present pricing proposals in accordance with dealership guidelines.
  • Partner with Sales Management and Finance to help customers move smoothly through the purchase process.
  • Maintain accurate and timely customer information and activity in the dealership's CRM system.
  • Respond to leads and maintain consistent follow-up with prospective and existing customers by phone, email, text, and other approved channels.
  • Develop repeat and referral business by building relationships that extend beyond the initial sale.
  • Maintain strong knowledge of Subaru vehicles, new and pre-owned inventory, manufacturer programs, available options, warranties, and competitive products.
  • Complete required manufacturer certifications and dealership training.
  • Coordinate and conduct professional vehicle deliveries, ensuring guests understand the features, technology, maintenance needs, and resources available with their new vehicle.
  • Introduce customers to our Service team and help establish the relationship that will support them throughout their ownership experience.
  • Follow up after delivery to ensure satisfaction and continue building the customer relationship.
What We're Looking For

We're interested in people who are motivated, coachable, relationship-oriented, and comfortable being accountable for their own results.

Successful candidates should bring:

  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • The ability to listen, ask good questions, and establish trust.
  • A positive, professional, and customer-focused approach.
  • Strong organizational and follow-up skills.
  • The ability to manage multiple customers, leads, appointments, and priorities.
  • Comfort using technology and the ability to learn dealership CRM and sales systems.
  • The ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment.
  • A strong work ethic and willingness to consistently prospect, follow up, and develop new business.
  • A willingness to learn the product and complete required Subaru and dealership training.
  • A valid driver's license and driving record acceptable under company standards.
  • Flexibility to work a retail automotive schedule, including evenings and weekends as required.
What Success Looks Like

Automotive sales rewards people who consistently do the work behind the sale, not just the people who happen to be standing on the showroom floor when someone walks in.

Our Sales Consultants are expected to build and manage their business through:

  • Consistent customer follow-up and lead management.
  • Appointment generation and prospecting activity.
  • Accurate and timely CRM use.
  • Strong product knowledge and continued training.
  • Exceptional customer…
