Position Summary

The Group Fitness Instructor provides cutting‑edge group fitness instruction through a variety of entertaining, educational, and fun classes promoting fitness and positive self‑esteem in a safe environment. They act as a fitness resource for class participants and maintain positive relationships with members to encourage continued class attendance. The Group Fitness Instructor is responsible for consistently meeting daily class attendance goals as well as effectively promoting Life Time programs, products, and services.

As a Group Fitness Instructor at Life Time, you have the opportunity to instruct a variety of group fitness formats:

• LIFT: Build Strength – Strength training classes that combine muscle work and music, motivating members to lift more and develop lifelong joy in lifting.
• SHRED: Strength Circuits – No‑excuses, full‑body strength and endurance workout, timed and consistent to deliver results.
• MAXOUT: Maximize your muscles – Heavy weights, supersets, and a high‑energy challenge to push athletes to muscle burnout.
• XTREME: Conditioning Challenges – HIIT workouts designed to raise personal bests.
• REMIXX: Feel Good, Heart Pumping Cardio – High‑energy cardio with remixed music.
• STRIKE: Boxing/Kickboxing – Grit‑filled class teaching boxing fundamentals.
• LIFE BARRE: Strength & Grace Align – Ballet‑rooted movements that engage muscles and improve posture.
• AMP: Ride to the Rhythm – Immersive cycling experience with choreographed moves.
• EDG: Music, Metrics & Technology – Enhance speed, strength, and stamina on the bike.
• PWR: Athletic Endurance – Individualized cycling training.
• DANZE: Move unapologetically to the beat – Dance classes spanning Hip Hop, Latin Fusion, and musical theater.
• YOGA: Mind & Body Alignment – Includes YIN, HATHA, and VINYASA flows.
• ARORA: Support for healthy aging – Programs for older adults.
• SGT: Cardio & Strength – A 50/50 guided training experience.
• ULTRA FIT: Achieve Extraordinary – Sprints and strength/balance moves for raw performance.

• Develop positive relationships with class participants by teaching a variety of challenging and entertaining classes.
• Educate class participants on correct form and alternative moves during the fitness routine.
• Attentively listen to members, answer questions, and engage in conversation before and after classes.
• Cleans and organizes studio space after each class.
• Provide current music for each class that entertains and motivates while ensuring appropriate language.
• Promote Life Time promotions, programs, products, and services while specifically encouraging participation for the classes at Life Time.

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 1 or more years of fitness instructor work experience.
• CPR/AED Certification.
• Minimum of one of the following Group Exercise
  
  Certifications:
  
  NASM, ACE, AFAA, or AEA.
• Ability to perform an aerobic activity for the duration of a class, which may include standing, walking, climbing, balancing, running, crawling, and kneeling.
• Ability to routinely lift 50 pounds and occasionally 100 pounds.
• Ability to perform exercises specific to the assigned class.
