Overview
Pathways to Practice engages graduate students in professional counseling programs to serve schools and community organizations across Wyoming and beyond. Members provide mental health outreach, education, and direct support to youth, families, and community members while gaining hands-on experience with mental health systems and evidence-based practices. This program develops the next generation of professional counselors equipped to promote wellness and resilience across Wyoming's various community settings.
MemberDuties
- Ameri Corps members will serve directly in schools, after-school programs, and community-based organizations.
- Providing counseling services, classroom lessons, and clinical assessments.
- Supporting local mental health awareness efforts through collaboration with professional organizations and grassroots advocacy.
- Assisting students, families, and community members in navigating mental health and crisis services.
- Facilitating small groups focused on the mental or emotional needs of the local community.
- Supporting suicide prevention, bullying prevention, and restorative justice initiatives.
- Collecting data, maintaining records, and assisting with program evaluation to strengthen service delivery.
Training, Education award upon successful completion of service, Stipend.
