HF Sinclair Midstream is seeking a SCADA Programming Technician. This position conducts mid to high level hardware/software field assignments for the Pipeline/Terminal SCADA department under minimal supervision, and may direct or lead the work of others from time‑to‑time.

• Develop and design control systems for pipeline/terminal control.
• Program PLCs for the design and implementation of Windows‑based software.
• Maintain and program PLCs and field HMIs.
• Design and set up network structures for field communication.
• Conduct communication testing for field sites.
• Develop system application specifications, utilizing business knowledge and test developed programs to ensure proper functionality and implementation.
• Establish processes to resolve problems and provide top‑tier support to system operators and field personnel on the use of field SCADA systems.
• Develop and maintain system documentation, and document current field site network configuration and user requirements.
• Provide Communication (SAT) PLC programming, Wonderware and/or Clear
  
  SCADA software maintenance, and upkeep of field server and data.
• Relocate technical equipment to and from an assigned location.
• Work with all departments and 3rd‑party companies concerning SCADA.
• Assist the I&E group with troubleshooting field issues.
• Special assignments or tasks assigned by a superior as determined in their discretion.

A minimum of three years of on‑the‑job experience is required.

Control operations experience is preferred.

A minimum of an Associate’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Telecommunications or a related field, or the equivalent combination of education and experience, is required.

A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Telecommunications or a related field is preferred.

Mid‑level knowledge of PLC programming, VSAT communication, networking, and HMI displays. Good organizational, time‑management, and communication skills, both written and verbal, and ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.

Experience with GE PLCs, Allen‑Bradley PLCs, Wonderware Intouch Software, Clear SCADA, and Proficy Machine Automation.

May manage contractors and supplier representatives and direct or lead the work of others from time‑to‑time.

Office and field based with up to 50% travel by land and air. Work occurs in refinery and plant environments, outdoors, and driver‑based settings. Exposure to chemicals, pressure vessels, tanks, rotating equipment, loud noises, vibrations, confined spaces, and electrical shock risks. Subject to all temperatures and weather conditions.

Job conditions require standing, walking, sitting, twisting, stooping, crouching, kneeling, lifting and/or carrying up to 50 lbs, pushing and/or pulling up to 50 lbs, climbing up to 15 ft, talking or hearing, making visual inspections, making precise hand and finger movements, reaching or grasping, perceiving color differences, and wearing personal protective equipment and a respirator during emergencies as needed (beards not permitted).
