Summary:

The Enterprise Systems Support Specialist provides technical and operational support for Casper College’s enterprise applications, including Ellucian Colleague, Slate CRM, Soft Docs, WEBI, and related third‑party tools. This position supports and acts as the primary backup to the Enterprise Software Administrator, ensuring continuity of service and supporting system maintenance, troubleshooting, and user support. The role is expected to gain familiarity with other enterprise systems and support across departmental projects as needed.

Responsibilities:

The Enterprise Systems Support Specialist supports the Enterprise Software Administrator to ensure the stability, integrity and efficient operation of the college administrative computing systems and related software tools. This position provides services to the entire campus population, including 500+ employees and 4000+ students. These services include payroll, financial information, student registration and database access, as well as personal data on employees, students and former students.

This position will participate in any future planning for ERP & SIS and related software. This position reports to the Enterprise Data Coordinator and works closely with all IT staff to achieve departmental goals.

  • Lead technical implementation of third‑party software systems, serving as the primary project specialist responsible for coordination of critical system integration, configuration, and deployment. Collaborate with vendors and internal IT teams to ensure compatibility with existing infrastructure, data integrity across environments, and adherence to security and performance standards.
  • Assist in the management and administration of the Colleague software including: provide customer support for administrative computing functions that support staff, faculty and students.
  • Assist in managing and administrating security classes for all Colleague users.
  • Assist in managing and ensuring the integrity of the Colleague software suite and the associated data.
  • Perform system backup procedures and work with Enterprise Data Coordinator to develop and implement disaster recovery procedures.
  • Learn and understand automated processes to include custom programming and scripting.
  • Create and maintain documentation as it relates to the software, including the timeliness of periodic reports, and a record of patches released and applied.
  • Assess the need for system reconfigurations and work with senior administrators to execute them.
  • Recommend, schedule and perform software improvements and upgrades.
  • Use ancillary programs such as Colleague Studio to provide customized solutions based upon data with the Datatel/Colleague system.
  • Act as technical member for the Casper College Internal ERP user group.
  • Must be willing to travel and attend regional and national conferences to stay up to date on issues in the field.
  • May be required to occasionally work hours outside of normal working hours.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Associate’s Degree from an accredited institution in computer science, information technology, or related field, or a High School Diploma and a minimum of 2 years professional experience in a computer‑related field
  • Experience providing a high level of customer service
  • Working knowledge of database concepts and systems
  • Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communications skills
  • Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user‑friendly language
  • Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high‑pressure environment

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution in computer science, information technology, or related field.
  • Experience with Ellucian Colleague Administration, including Colleague Studio/Envision Basic and MSSQL administration.
  • Proficiency in SAP Business Objects, Universe Design, and report writing and administration.
  • Familiarity with Student Self‑Service and Microsoft ISS environments.
  • Strong programming background, with experience using C#, JavaScript, HTML/CSS, XML, JSON, and API development and integration.
  • Experience with Document Imaging systems (Soft Docs preferred).
