Your New Role – Key Responsibilities

As an Environmental Manager
, you will play a pivotal role across several key areas:

Health & Safety
  • Oversee the health, safety, and well-being of team members within your environmental discipline.

Business Development
  • Actively support sector leads and drive business development efforts for your discipline.

  • Engage with new and potential clients, both within WSP and externally, to explore opportunities and build partnerships.

Commercial Oversight
  • Monitor and analyze the financial performance of your team to ensure KPIs are achieved.

  • Provide detailed reports to the Environmental Advisory and P&L Director.

Operational Coordination
  • Ensure your team integrates seamlessly with other departments under the ‘One National Team’ philosophy.

  • Responsibilities include:

    • Weekly resource planning and allocation

    • Encouraging cross-discipline collaboration

    • Acting as the main communication link between senior management and your team

    • Ensuring team members are aligned with organizational updates and messages

    • Providing technical guidance and approving project deliverables in your area of expertise

People Management
  • Lead regular team meetings and one‑on‑ones

  • Mentor team members and support their professional growth and development

We’re Looking for Someone With:
  • Educational Background
    : BSc and MSc in a relevant environmental or engineering discipline

  • Professional Credentials
    :
    Membership in a recognized professional body (e.g., IEMA) and preferably chartered status

  • Experience
    :

    • 8–10 years managing complex, multidisciplinary environmental projects

    • Previous experience in an international consultancy

    • (Bonus) Knowledge in air dispersion or noise modelling

  • Skills
    :

    • Strong cross‑disciplinary collaboration and adaptability

    • Proven ability to provide technical solutions and clarify client design issues

    • Exceptional editing, reporting, and document management abilities

    • Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation, and organisational skills

    • Experience juggling multiple projects simultaneously

    • Effective project, time, and budget management

    • A collaborative mindset with a focus on delivering outcomes
