Aquatics Supervisor

The Casper Recreation Center is hiring an Aquatics Supervisor to lead one indoor aquatics center and four outdoor pools. This is a hands‑on leadership role for someone who enjoys fast‑paced work, supporting teams, and making a positive impact in the community.

You’ll oversee daily pool operations, supervise and support seasonal and year‑round staff, coach head lifeguards, solve problems in real time, and work closely with maintenance and recreation leadership to keep programs running safely and smoothly. Key Responsibilities
  • Supervises assigned staff: authorizing time off, approving payroll and hiring, prioritizing and assigning work, conducting performance evaluations, ensuring staff training, ensuring policies and procedures are followed, maintaining a healthy and safe working environment, and making hiring, termination, and disciplinary recommendations.
  • Coordinates and assigns day‑to‑day activities of assigned staff and prioritizes projects relating to a recreation facility or area.
  • Develops, organizes, and evaluates recreational programs and services including identifying community needs, evaluating trends, recommending new/revised programs, and scheduling facilities, staff, contractors, and equipment.
  • May develop, implement, and oversee engaging camp programs, including summer camps, holiday camps, and specialty camps, ensuring a safe and fun environment for all participants.
  • May develop, implement, and oversee innovative youth and teen programs that promote social interaction, personal growth, and skill development, catering to diverse age groups and interests.
  • Assists with budget preparation and administration; prepares cost estimates and justifications for budget items; submits and approves invoices for payment and monitors expenses to align with budget allocated utilizing the City’s central financial software system.
  • Monitors equipment and supply inventories; purchases equipment and supplies as needed; maintains equipment as necessary.
  • Establishes schedules and methods for providing recreation services; identifies resource needs; reviews needs with appropriate management staff; and allocates resources accordingly.
  • Monitors the condition and operation of recreational facilities, grounds, and equipment; documents conditions; coordinates repairs as needed.
  • Meets with public groups, clubs, organizations, and agencies to explain and promote community services, activities, and programs that encourage community participation.
  • Keeps current on new trends and innovations in recreation services.
  • Prepares operational and statistical reports to assist the Recreation Manager.
  • Represents the City of Casper by responding to the public, citizens, its employees, and others in a prompt, professional, and courteous manner while continuously maintaining a positive customer service demeanor.
