Description: The Construction Manager (CM) can run a standalone multi-craft project up to $30 Million dollars. The CM’s primary role on a large construction project is to oversee safety, quality, equipment, material, and manpower and overall site coordination between senior craft leadership. The CM is additionally responsible for supporting and assisting the project lead or being the project lead.
To successfully manage a project, they must have a thorough multi-discipline understanding of the industry’s best practices and codes.

General- 12 years of applicable experience
- History of working successfully as a Sr. Project Engineer or Project Superintendent
- Proven ability to work collaboratively and execute independently, maintain excellent rapport with team members
- Overall project communication, Strategic project planning, organization between multiple stakeholders potentially comprised of partners, customers, public and local government entities.
- Understanding and assessing project resource demands including organization chart development, roles and responsibilities, expectations and the ability to make changes as needed throughout the project lifecycle.
- Through the development of the division of responsibilities, understand, enforce, and as needed develop all necessary project documents.
- Understand and comply with local ordinances, contractor licensing and city and county permitting requirements. Including all subcontractors, engineers and project partners.
- Lead project constructability reviews and task plan to improve the execution of the project.
- Knowledge of project financials and the ability to evaluate costs and benefits to allow for correct decision making when reviewing short and long-term risks and opportunities.
- Demonstrate business skills including communication skills, relationship development, and business acumen
- Self-motivated; capable of taking initiative, successfully handling and prioritize multiple competing assignments and effectively manage deadlines
- Interpersonal and communication skills to coordinate team efforts, provide direction to team members, and communicate project objectives, parameters, status, and outcomes to stakeholders
- Written and verbal communication with ability to serve as a spokesperson for Company
- Willing to travel extensively and relocate to the next project location for an extended period (typically 6-12 months)
- Be an influential leader and developer of Strobel’s culture and values
- In absence of PM, act as the primary client point of contact
- Anticipate and act on client project needs and expectations
- Represent Strobel in a professional manner in all client interaction activities
- Set up and run Client/Strobel/Subcontractor kickoff meeting
- Lead construction specific portions of daily, weekly and monthly meetings with the client
- Lead coach and mentor discipline superintendents to establish the safety culture consistent with Strobel’s values.
- Anticipate and act on project safety needs based upon upcoming activities and leading indicators.
- Oversee incident management and investigation.
- Understand and lead Strobel’s Corporate Safety Plan and develop/assist in site specific safety plan
- Ability to make project decisions related to the safety of all employees including sitewide stop work
- Support or lead safety training meetings and sessions
- Act as site representation in PM’s absence for Regulatory Audits (OSHA, Dept. of Environment, etc)
- Ensure Strobel’s Safety best practices are in place including Supervisor audits, Craft observations, Safety Leadership Meetings (SLTs), Scorecard, and Trend Report.
- Ensure your team reports ALL safety events and near misses
- Lead coach and mentor discipline superintendents to understand and execute Strobel’s Corporate Quality Plan and develop/assist in site specific quality plan
- Read, understand, and ensure that the site quality plan is communicated, and all inspections and quality documentation is completed on time and assembled for final turn-over
