Upstream Data specializes in the design and fabrication of innovative oilfield and manufacturing solutions. We are seeking a reliable and motivated Shop Hand to join our Casper, Wyoming facility. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, takes pride in their work, and is eager to be part of a growing team.
Position OverviewThe Shop Hand supports daily shop operations including fabrication preparation, shipping/receiving, documentation, and general shop duties. The ideal candidate has oilfield fabrication experience, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work safely and independently.
Key Responsibilities- Work safely at all times and lead by example in maintaining a strong safety culture.
- Assist with preparing orders, including picking parts and assembling work packages.
- Prepare materials, stage components for assembly, and support production requirements.
- Collaborate with the manager on workflow and production needs.
- Support continuous improvement of shop processes and procedures.
- Complete required documentation in a clear and accurate manner.
- Assist with shipping, receiving, loading, and unloading materials or equipment.
- Prepare completed repairs for shipment, including documentation, photos, packaging, and quality checks.
- Maintain general housekeeping, scrap disposal, and other daily operational tasks.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support shop operations.
- Maintain required safety certifications for any applicable field work.
- Experience in oilfield building fabrication.
- Experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
- Valid driver’s license with ability to provide a clean driver’s abstract.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- 8 hours per day, Monday to Friday.
- 8:00 a.m. start time; 30-minute lunch break.
- Timesheets required for all hours worked.
