Fire Alarm Inspector – Pye-Barker Fire & Safety

Responsibilities- Ensure all inspections are completed on a timely basis and accurately and thoroughly.
- Test all building fire alarm control panels, devices, and functions and enter results into a Palm handheld device.
- Download inspection data and generate a completed Fire Alarm Inspection Report.
- Participate in monthly team meetings.
- Perform other duties assigned by management.
- College degree preferred; high school diploma or equivalent acceptable with relevant experience.
- Study and learn NFPA standards for inspection and testing of fire protection systems; stay current with code requirements and industry changes; obtain NICET certifications.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills; customer‑service oriented.
- Ability and willingness to work within a team environment.
- Fire alarm experience preferred but not required.
- Proficiency with test equipment including sensitivity test equipment, multimeters, battery analyzers, sound level meters, and communication devices.
- Good PC networking skills and familiarity with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Palm unit operating systems.
- Reliable transportation to and from office or job sites.
- Punctuality is critical due to the need to perform sound tests before building tenant arrivals.
- Adhere to the Code of Conduct, Confidentiality Agreement, and Company Safety Policy.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Work in industrial, commercial, and residential building environments with moderate to high noise levels.
- Required to stand, walk stairs, and climb ladders; physically demanding daily duties.
- May need to lift objects up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to use phone and computer consistently throughout the day.
