Responsibilities- Load and unload trucks and/or trailers. Properly secure loads in accordance with state/federal regulations and safety practices.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly.
- Assist in other duties at the branch, including warehouse and yard inventory responsibilities.
- Inspect and maintain vehicle supplies and equipment (gas, oil, water, tires, lights, brakes) to ensure proper working condition.
- Verify the contents of inventory loads against shipping papers.
- Submit receipts and money received from deliveries.
- Follow DOT regulations and safety standards.
- Report delays, accidents, or other traffic and transportation situations to base or other vehicles.
- Demonstrate adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather, etc.).
- Maintain company gas card, vehicle registration, and proof of insurance; ensure Driver License and Medical Certificate are current and on person at all times while driving a company vehicle.
- Valid driver’s license - CDL-A required.
- Must have and maintain an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
- No record of citation or conviction of any DUI/DWI within the previous 5 years.
- Must pass a Department of Transportation (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). examination and functional screen.
- Must consent to a pre-employment drug and alcohol screen.
- Pay: $30.00 per hour.
- Compensation includes a quarterly Safety Bonus Program ($1,000, ~ $2.00/hr) that increases with seniority, and annual merit increases.
- Delivery routes with multiple stops; 100-500 mile driving radius from the branch.
- Time Off: 20 days in the first year (10 days PTO, 10 days paid company holidays, increasing after year
1).
- Time type:
Full-time. - Essential duties include loading/unloading, inventory verification, and compliance with safety and DOT regulations.
- Regularly sit, talk or hear; use hands to finger, handle, or feeling; reach with hands and arms.
- Frequently stand or walk; climb or balance.
- Specific vision abilities including close vision.
- Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
