SEND Teacher – Full-time, temporary to permanent from September 2026

This SEND Teacher role offers the opportunity to work full time within a specialist setting supporting pupils with additional learning needs. The school provides a structured, nurturing environment where teaching is carefully adapted to support engagement, confidence, and progress. This SEND Teacher position is ideal for someone committed to inclusive education and seeking a long‑term opportunity with the potential to become permanent.

Duties

as SEND Teacher:
  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons adapted to meet a range of special educational needs
  • Provide personalised learning opportunities to support academic and personal development
  • Create a calm, structured, and inclusive classroom environment
  • Use consistent strategies to support behaviour, engagement, and emotional regulation
  • Assess, monitor, and track pupil progress, adapting teaching as required
  • Work collaboratively with support staff, therapists, and wider professionals
  • Contribute to individual education plans and targeted interventions
  • Build positive relationships that support pupil confidence and readiness to learn
  • Uphold safeguarding, welfare, and health and safety responsibilities at all times
Ideal SEND Teacher:
  • Qualified Teacher Status or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
  • Experience working with pupils with SEND
  • Strong understanding of inclusive teaching strategies and differentiation
  • Calm, patient, and resilient teaching approach
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Willingness to commit to a temporary role with the opportunity to become permanent
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
