Customer Service Clerk – Kroger Mountain View Foods

• Demonstrate teamwork to ensure customer satisfaction and a pleasant working and shopping environment.
• Provide friendly and efficient customer service, thanking customers for their business.
• Greet customers, escort them to products, assist with heavy items, retrieve out-of-reach items.
• Anticipate customer needs, communicate effectively, resolve issues promptly.
• Oversee front‑end operations to meet sales, profit, and labor goals through cost control, labor efficiencies, excellent service, and shrink control. Ensure front‑end cleanliness, maintenance, and sanitation.
• Prioritize tasks and maintain front‑end conditions.
• Ensure prompt, accurate checkout and compliance with company policies and regulations.
• Train, monitor, and coach associates on front‑end policies (product handling, tender & coupon procedures, scanning errors, price checks) to reduce shrink and waste.
• Communicate pricing or signage discrepancies.
• Provide backup coverage for the service operations manager (excluding hiring & discipline).
• Maintain knowledge of checkout transaction policies, bookkeeping (voids, refunds, exception reports, cash pickups, coin canister exchanges, coupon audits).
• Operate equipment such as scanners, registers, scales, and approval machines.
• Assist with front‑end functions (bagging, cart collection, cleaning).
• Comply with all food safety, sanitation, and safety regulations. Report unsafe conditions or illegal activity.
• Perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Six months related experience or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Effective interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Good math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
• Sound judgment and decision‑making skills.
• Friendly, approachable, outgoing, and team‑player demeanor.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
• Good oral and written communication skills.

• Familiarity with Microsoft Office Word and Excel.
