Educational Assistant IV – Severe Needs – Student Specific

Location:

Cherokee Trail Elementary.

Position Summary:

• Assist special education teachers with instruction, medical, and health needs of students.
• Provide clerical support and assist with daily functions such as behavior support and life skills instruction.
• Implement daily and long‑range lessons and assist students with food preparation, handover feeding, and toileting.
• Collaborate with special needs team and other specialists; maintain community relations.

Essential

Physical Requirements:

• Occasional lifting of 40‑70 pounds.
• Frequent bending, standing, sitting, and walking.
• Occasional reaching, kneeling, bending, squatting, and standing.
• Ability to run short distances.

Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent (required).
• Experience in an educational environment preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Ability to read and comprehend written, graphic, and oral instructions.
• Computer skills: word processing, databases, spreadsheets.

Schedule:

• Full‑time (0.94 FTE), 37.5 hrs per week.
• Approx. 180 work days per year.

Compensation:

• Base pay range: $19.84 / hr – $19.84 / hr.
• Minimum hire rate: $19.84 / hr.
• Maximum hire rate: $25.20 / hr.
• Full salary range: $19.84 / hr – $30.55 / hr.
