Overview

Engineering Manager EPC at MYR Energy Services, Inc. The Engineering Manager, EPC will oversee the engineering and procurement aspects of electrical substation, transmission, and distribution EPC projects nationwide from bidding to project closeout. This role includes support for owner design reviews, construction and startup support, and submittal of final "as built" design documents.

The Role

The Engineering Manager, EPC will be responsible for overseeing the engineering work and coordinating engineering activities across EPC projects. This includes interfacing with equipment vendors, expediting procurement information and deliverables, and ensuring timely engineering and procurement outcomes in alignment with project schedules.

Essential Functions
  • Understand and prepare proposals for Engineer, Procure, Construction (EPC) electrical substation, transmission, and distribution projects
  • Manage and coordinate all detailed design engineering subcontractors and related field liaison activities
  • Coordinate all engineered equipment and material procurement activities
  • Interface with equipment vendors, including expediting procurement information and deliverables; delegate to the procurement manager as needed
  • Prepare the engineering and engineered equipment procurement requirements of the project
  • Schedule day-to-day engineering subcontractor and equipment procurement activities and coordinate with the Project Executive and/or Project Manager
  • Perform additional duties as directed by the Project Executive and/or the Project Manager
  • Manage the testing and commissioning contractor for EPC projects
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Regular and predictable attendance
  • Travel up to 25% required
  • Understand and comply with the Company's Code of Business Conduct and Ethics and other professional conduct standards

This position can be remote or hybrid in Castle Rock, Colorado or Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Qualifications About You
  • 5+ years of experience in design, engineering, or project management related to electrical, transmission, distribution, and substation projects
  • PE license
  • Construction-related experience or EPC project experience
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Civil, or Mechanical Engineering
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
  • Ability to read and understand civil, architectural, structural, mechanical plans and specifications related to electrical work
  • Computer literate with Microsoft Office; ability to prepare construction schedules in Microsoft Project and/or Primavera
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and verbal and written communication skills
  • Team player with ability to work with diverse internal and external partners
  • Self-driven with the ability to stay on task for extended periods
