Speech Language Pathologists in the Douglas County School District provide universal, targeted, and intensive intervention to K‑21 students entitled to special education services. The role involves assessment, research‑based intervention, individualized instruction and collaboration with the GVC program to promote academic, social and communication growth.

• Conduct comprehensive assessments and provide evidence‑based intervention to students with suspected speech‑language impairment.
• Collaborate with the team to design Individual Education Programs that implement GVC‑aligned, differentiated instruction.
• Maintain accurate and complete records of student progress, including IEP and Medicaid documentation.
• Manage classroom behavior by establishing and enforcing rules, and applying appropriate disciplinary measures.
• Support student behavior, counseling and extracurricular activities, and attend parent and school meetings.

• Master’s Degree in Speech Pathology or Communication Science Disorders from an accredited institution.
• Colorado School Speech‑Language Pathologist license (required).
• Preferred CCC‑SLP certification.
• Demonstrated knowledge of speech‑language and social language development, behavior management, consultation and case‑management skills.
• Effective written and oral communication and ability to establish cooperative relationships with staff, students and parents.

• Special Service Provider License – School Speech Language Pathologist (Colorado Department of Education).

Regular, Full‑time, 40 hours per week, FTE 1.00

Variable Location Employee – SPED

$62,150.00 – $ annually (Specialist/Extremely Hard to Hire schedule)
