The Endpoint Cybersecurity Engineer is part of a team that manages the day‑to‑day operations of the county’s security solutions, investigates and resolves security breaches, and maintains secure operation of in‑house computer systems, servers, and network connections. The role involves operating Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager and Microsoft Intune, analyzing and resolving security breaches, conducting vulnerability audits, and supporting the strategic Cyber Security roadmap.

• Work with the IT operations team to maintain up‑to‑date baselines for secure configuration and operation of all onsite devices.
• Maintain operational configurations of all security solutions as per established baselines.
• Build and secure task sequences used to deploy endpoints.
• Secure infrastructure by deploying third‑party patches on schedule.
• Monitor all security solutions for efficient operation.
• Review logs and reports of all devices and devise appropriate resolution plans.
• Participate in investigations into problematic activity, including incident/breach troubleshooting and possible after‑hours support.
• Participate in the design and execution of vulnerability assessments, penetration tests, and security audits.

• Participate in planning and design of enterprise security architecture.
• Create enterprise security documents (policies, standards, baselines, guidelines, and procedures).
• Participate in planning and design of Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Plans.
• Assess need for security reconfigurations and manage policies and conditional access.
• Conduct research on emerging products, services, protocols, and standards.
• Build and present reports and dashboards demonstrating the security state.
• Develop and maintain a security incident response plan and protocols.

• Recommend, schedule, and perform security improvements and upgrades.
• Maintain detailed knowledge of the IT security industry and emerging solutions.
• Recommend additional security solutions or enhancements.
• Deploy, integrate, and configure new security solutions per best practices and enterprise documents.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent (or sufficient experience).
• Minimum five years of work experience in a cyber security operational environment, IT risk management, IT compliance, IT audit, or similar field.
• At least one current certification in Cyber Security (CISA, CISM, CISSP, Security+). Experience and education may be considered in lieu of certifications.
