Client Advocate – Make a Difference, Help Others Find Stability and Hope
Catholic Charities is hiring a part-time Client Advocate to support individuals and families facing housing or economic instability. You’ll provide strength-based case management, connect clients to critical resources, and help them build paths toward lasting stability—all in a welcoming, mission-driven environment.

Position Highlights:

Key tasks and responsibilities to be performed in the role.
- Conduct initial screening and intake of clients to gather information that identifies critical service needs. Inform the client of services available through Catholic Charities or by referral to another agency/partner for assistance with identified needs.
- Conduct comprehensive client assessments to gather pertinent information directed at concerns identified in the initial screening.
- Provide strength‑based case management services. Build rapport, conduct needs assessments and develop effective case plans based on the agreed upon goals, desired outcomes, and time frames. Provide appropriate services (or referral for services) and monitor results of the service plan over time.
- Manage cases related to self‑sufficiency programs in partnership with Douglas County.
- Assist in the development of procedures, policies, programs, and services designed to promote the skills and conditions necessary for clients to achieve their goals.
- Perform data entry, including client plans and case management notes, into Empow
OR or applicable agency case management database in a timely, succinct, and accurate manner. - Ensure confidentiality and security of client information.
- Direct clients to appropriate partner agencies both on and off‑site.
- Maintain contacts and positive working relationships with provider organizations to which clients are referred.
- Assist in developing and maintaining an accurate list of referral sources.
- Schedule may include evenings and weekends.
- Skills, behaviors, and abilities necessary to succeed in the role, but not required for eligibility.
- Ability to work with people in crisis with a calm, positive, and understanding attitude.
- Complete trainings to build case management skills (such as Motivational Interviewing and Protective Factors)
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with people representing a diverse range of socioeconomic levels while being sensitive to cultural differences.
- Ability to use sound judgment within defined policies and procedures to determine appropriate action.
- Ability to utilize technology relative to the performance of the areas of responsibility.
Minimum requirements to be eligible for the role.
Education & Experience:
- H.S. diploma/equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree in human services field preferred.
- Experience with and sensitivity to issues affecting low income and homeless populations.
- Two years of experience in the human services field preferred.
