Vico Homes is built on the foundations of WDH. We are looking for a Senior Project Officer to join our Homes and Sustainability Team
.

A home is more than four walls and a roof. It should be a safe place. A place to start things. A place of opportunities. A place to grow. A place where you feel you belong.

These are the places we provide for today and for the future. This is what marks us out as one of the leading players in the social housing sector. We have over 32,000 homes across the north of England, home to tens of thousands of people. And people are at the centre of what we do.

Our people are approachable and professional. But we're not afraid to be optimistic and show our passion for what we do to support our customers. We share a common vision, acting confidently to ensure we remain at the forefront of making it happen.

Together, we're building better futures and vibrant communities.

About the role

As the Senior Project Officer your manager will be our Energy Project Manager. You will work 37 hours a week on a permanent basis, working flexibly in the Vico Homes operating area based at our Head Office in Castleford.

As the Senior Project Officer, you'll play a pivotal role in delivering Vico Homes’s capital investment programme, ensuring capital, retrofit and Sustainability projects are fully prepared for our principal contractor to commence works. Working closely with key stakeholders, you'll coordinate all necessary information and requirements, enabling the successful delivery of projects on time, within budget and to agreed standards of quality and specification, helping to enhance homes and communities across our operating area.

It is an exciting time to be joining us and here are some of the initiatives that you will be involved in:

  • Low Carbon Heating Systems
  • Building Design and Retrofit Strategy
  • Other EPC Measures to Achieve Social Housing EPC Requirements
What you’ll do
  • Lead the successful mobilisation and delivery of major investment projects, ensuring everything is in place for contractors to start on site and projects progress smoothly from planning through to completion.
  • Act as Vico Homes’s representative, working closely with contractors, consultants and stakeholders to deliver high-quality improvements that provide excellent value for money and put our customers first.
  • Oversee project performance, budgets and risk, ensuring schemes are delivered safely, on time, within budget and in line with quality, compliance and regulatory requirements.
  • Build strong relationships across the business and supply chain, coordinating information, managing contracts and driving collaboration to achieve successful project outcomes.
  • Drive continuous improvement and innovation, identifying opportunities to enhance service delivery, improve efficiency and support the long-term success of Vico Homes’s Capital Investment Programme.
What we’re looking for
  • You’ll hold a relevant Level 4 qualification (or equivalent), a valid CSCS card and IOSH Managing Safely certification, with a strong understanding of construction project management, health and safety and the delivery of successful investment programmes.
  • You’ll bring a proven track record of managing projects valued at £2m+, ideally within housing, property services or construction environments, with experience of working collaboratively with contractors and consultants to deliver high-quality outcomes and continuous service improvements.
  • You’ll be a confident decision-maker with excellent stakeholder management skills, able to motivate others, manage competing priorities and deliver results under pressure. You'll share our commitment to quality, value for money and exceptional customer service and hold a full UK driving licence with access to a vehicle, enabling you to travel across the Vico Homes operating area as required.
