Senior M&E Quantity Surveyor

Castleford We are looking to appoint an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor (MEP) to join our Engineering team, supporting the successful delivery of major construction projects. This is a key commercial role responsible for managing the MEP commercial aspects of either a large project or several smaller projects, ensuring financial performance is maximised while effectively managing commercial risk.

Working closely with project, operational and commercial teams, you will play a pivotal role in delivering successful project outcomes, managing subcontractor procurement, contract administration and final accounts, while mentoring and developing junior members of the commercial team.

Key Duties Lead the commercial management of MEP packages, ensuring projects are delivered profitably whilst managing commercial risk and contractual compliance.

Manage subcontract procurement, payment applications, valuations, final accounts and cash collection in accordance with company procedures.

Work collaboratively with project teams to monitor contract performance, manage change, resolve commercial issues and support dispute avoidance.

Produce accurate commercial reporting, forecasts and cost analysis to support business performance and decision making.

Mentor and develop junior commercial team members, promoting best practice and supporting professional development.

About You You will be an experienced MEP commercial professional with a strong track record of successfully managing the commercial delivery of live construction projects.

You will bring:

Extensive experience within the MEP sector, including subcontract procurement and final account negotiation.

Strong working knowledge of NEC and JCT contracts, including Target Cost projects.

Excellent commercial awareness with the ability to identify and manage project risk.

Experience leading, mentoring and developing commercial teams.

A Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management degree (or equivalent), with professional membership desirable.
