Buyer, Engineering

Our client, a long established and well respected electronics engineering business, seek to appoint a Buyer to manage and control the purchase of goods, materials and services. Our client design and manufacture their product on site so prior experience working with a mix of design, manufacturing and projects teams would be advantageous. As Buyer you must understand engineering and have previous experience purchasing sheet metals, fabricated parts and plastics.

Buyer - Role and Responsibilities - Procurement / Purchasing / Supply Chain / Manufacturing / Engineering / Buying / Electronics

Purchase goods, materials, components or services in accordance with specified technical, quality and delivery requirements
Prepare purchase orders in line with final negotiations with selected suppliers
Interface with other departments and Suppliers for all matters related to the procurement of Project materials, equipment and sub-contract services
Provide procurement support for new designs, and when necessary, participate in bid reviews and evaluations

A recognised engineering qualification
Well established experience in buying covering metals, fabricated parts and plastics
Possess strong knowledge on procuring technical equipment and materials
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities, negotiate effectively and to coach other members of the team where appropriate
