SC Cleared Lead Node.Js Developer

We are supporting a major digital transformation programme within the UK Public Sector and are seeking an experienced SC Cleared Lead Software Developer with strong Node.js expertise to join a high-performing agile delivery team.

This role will suit a hands‑on technical lead with a passion for building secure, scalable services and leading engineering best practices within cloud‑native environments.

• Design and develop scalable Back End services using Node.js
• Build and maintain REST APIs and OpenAPI specifications
• Develop secure, resilient and maintainable microservices
• Work closely with stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions
• Mentor developers and drive engineering best practices
• Contribute to software architecture and technical design decisions
• Investigate and resolve production issues
• Promote clean coding principles, test automation and technical excellence
• Support CI/CD and cloud‑native deployment pipelines

• Active SC Clearance
• Strong commercial experience with Node.js
• REST API and OpenAPI development
• HAPI framework experience
• PostgreSQL
• MongoDB
• Redis
• Jest and unit testing frameworks
• Git version control
• Docker and Kubernetes
• AWS and/or Azure cloud platforms
• CI/CD using Azure Dev Ops, Jenkins or Git Hub Actions
• Jira and Agile delivery environments
• Microservices architecture
• Secure development practices including OWASP awareness

• Public Sector or Government project experience
• ecosystem experience
• Experience communicating with senior stakeholders
• Experience leading development teams
• GDS or user‑centred design exposure
