Nestled on a Lake and surrounded by mountains, our client is a 30 bed private facility with the only trauma center and certified stroke center in the region.
They have an immediate need to a Director of Med Surg and Outpatient Care. This is a "big job" for an RN leader that is interested in moving metrics and will have around 78 direct reports. Physician Relations a big skill set for the right candidate!
Position Overview:The Department Director leads the clinical, operational and fiscal performance of the Intensive Care Unit, Medical-Surgical Unit, and Outpatient Care Services. This oversight requires twenty-four hour responsibility. The Director ensures compliance with all federal, state, and local regulatory requirements, including CMS Conditions of Participation, Title 22, The Joint Commission, and all other pertinent guidance. Responsibilities for the department include support and promotion of hospital and community liaison, staff development, capital, and operational budgets.
The hospital uses LEAN process improvement techniques, requiring all leaders to be conversant and comfortable with use of those tools. The director is expected to perform in a collegial and collaborative manner with respect to all shareholders, including but not limited to physicians, peers, staff, patients and families, as well as other organizational and community partners.
EDUCATION/LICENSURE:
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
Required:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Required.
- Masters in health related field. Preferred.
- Registered Nurse - State Licensure - RN
Required:
Licensed or obtains license prior to first work day. - Basic Life Support Certification - BLS Required.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support - ACLS Required.
