American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a PACU position requiring CA licensure and at least 2 years of PACU experience with charge nurse background.
Requirements- Active CA RN license required
- Minimum 2 years of PACU experience required
- Previous charge nurse experience required
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS
- Preferred certifications: CCRN, TNCC
- Experience with Phase I and Phase II PACU recovery
- Teaching hospital and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
- Skilled in airway assessment, End‑Tidal CO2 monitoring, extubation of LMA/ET, and placement of oral/nasal airways
- Experience with cardiac monitoring including arterial line management, CVP, and dysrhythmia recognition
- Experience with IV therapy including starting and maintaining IVs and phlebotomy
- Experience with various surgical case types including endo/laparoscopic and ortho procedures
- Knowledge of pain assessment and management, PCA pump management and isolation precautions/PPE
- Must provide 2 supervisor references obtained within the past year
- Must provide copies of all applicable certifications with valid expiration dates
- Work in a 12-bed PACU, primarily utilizing 4-6 bays for Phase 1 recovery of general surgery and procedural patients under general anesthesia or deep sedation
- Float to periop areas as needed for staffing, including pre‑procedure and Phase 2 recovery for moderate sedation patients in Interventional Radiology, GI, and Surgery
- Responsible for admission and discharge for the same–day procedure patients
- Patient ratio of 1:2
- 5x8-hour shifts with variable start times between 0700‑1500, including day and evening shifts
- On call and weekend availability as needed
- Uses Epic charting system
- Provide direct recovery care to post‑surgical and post‑procedural nurses del near uses pan w types
