American Traveler is hiring an experienced Operating Room RN with CA licensure and 3+ years of nursing experience for an evening shift assignment specializing in general, ortho, vascular, trauma and neuro surgery.

• Operating Room unit in a hospital setting
• Evening shift, 4x10 hours, 1:00 PM to 11:30 PM
• Specializes in General, Orthopedic, Vascular, Trauma, and Neuro surgeries
• Every other weekend required
• On-call as needed
• 1:1 patient ratio
• Uses Epic charting system

• Active CA RN license required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• CNOR, NIHSS, PALS, and TNCC certifications preferred
• Minimum 3 years of nursing experience required
• Minimum 1 year of travel nursing experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Teaching hospital, community hospital, LTAC, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
• Ability to make fine discrimination in sound
• Ability to work with bodily fluids and substances
• Must be able to handle emergency or crisis situations and varying, unpredictable circumstances

• Plans, manages, and coordinates professional nursing care for surgical patients
• Scrubs or circulates surgical cases and supervises ancillary nursing personnel
• Maintains AORN standards of professional nursing practice
• Works in an OSHA Risk Category I (High Risk) environment
• Holiday coverage required with only 1 holiday request approved per contract
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract
• Local candidates accepted at the local rate within a 50-mile radius
• Returning travelers must have a 1-year separation before returning
