American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position requiring a CA RN license and at least 3 years of recent experience.

• Work in the Med/Surg Telemetry unit of a community hospital setting
• Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• No Sunday shifts required, but rotating every other Saturday is mandatory
• Required to float to units within the Emergency Services Division
• Required charting system is Epic

• Active CA RN license required
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and CPI or MAB
• BSN required
• Minimum of 3 years of current RN experience, not including new grad residencies or orientation periods
• Community hospital experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, central and peripheral line care, PICC line management, and starting/maintaining IVs
• Experience managing cardiac and vasoactive drips (no titration) and PCA
• Experience with telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and use of rapid response/code teams
• Experience with wound care/wound vac, IV insulin protocols, oxygen administration, and renal failure management preferred

• Provide direct patient care including assessments, individualized care plans, and evaluation of care plan effectiveness
• Coordinate and delegate patient care assignments to support personnel based on patient needs
• Serve as relief Charge Nurse as assigned
• Assist physicians with exams, procedures, and emergency interventions such as cardiac arrest response
• Participate in orientation of new personnel and continuous quality improvement activities
• Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with regulatory standards
• Maintain a safe, clean, and therapeutic environment for patients and families
• Only one holiday may be requested off per contract, with coverage required for New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas
• Maximum RTO is 7 days per contract
• Returning employees must have a one-year separation period before returning as a traveler
• Local candidates accepted within a 50-mile radius at the local rate
• First-time travelers are not considered for this position
