We are looking for highly motivated people who can engage and inspire young students and who are seeking an enriching educational experience themselves. This key role ensures the academic and co‑curricular programmes in the camp meet Alpadia’s high standards, quality welfare arrangements are made for our students, and staff are led by example.
Key Responsibilities- Staff Management – Manage all staff effectively and respectfully, considering their personal development, providing support, leading daily meetings, assisting with training and induction, and supporting the regional manager with performance management.
- Student Management – Safeguard and promote wellbeing of all students, act as Designated Safeguarding Staff, manage overall behaviour and discipline, and ensure students enjoy the programme respecting others.
- Language Programme – Assist the Academic Manager in line‑managing teachers/Senior Teacher to provide a developing and enjoyable experience through high‑quality Standard, Intensive and Individual Courses.
- Activities Programme – Assist the Activity Manager in line‑managing activity leaders/Senior Activity Leader to deliver a well‑prepared, enjoyable Multi‑activity, Premium, Evening and Excursion programme.
- Welfare & Health & Safety – Ensure safeguarding, health and safety policies are understood and adhered to, line‑manage staff, respond personally to emergencies.
- Communication – Communicate effectively with stakeholders, parents/agents, and keep them updated, maintain professional relationships with host schools, partners, and sales team.
- Administration – Ensure efficient administration in check‑in/out lists, registers, pocket money, telephone, email, record keeping.
- Relationships – Manage working relationships professionally, support and feedback to team, nurture positive camp environment.
- Financial Control – Handle financial procedures, control expenditure, manage bank card and cash.
- Transfers – Oversee inbound and outbound airport transfers, prepare schedule, answer questions.
Essential
- Proven experience managing or coordinating summer camps, youth programmes, or similar environments.
- Experience leading teams and supervising staff in a fast‑paced, dynamic setting.
- Demonstrated experience in safeguarding and ensuring the welfare of children and young people.
- Strong leadership, organizational, problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to manage budgets, logistics, and administrative processes efficiently.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations and emergency procedures.
- Competence in conflict resolution and decision‑making under pressure.
- Relevant degree or equivalent experience in education, recreation, management, or related field.
- Responsible, approachable, resilient under pressure.
- Positive and motivating attitude towards staff and campers.
- Flexible and adaptable to changing situations or schedules.
- Commitment to creating a safe, inclusive, and enjoyable camp environment.
- First Degree or similar.
- High IT competency – Outlook, MS Office (especially Excel).
Desirable
- Experience working in international or language‑focused camps.
- Formal qualification in leadership, education, childcare, or youth work.
- Event planning or activity programming experience.
- Knowledge of another language.
- Experience with staff training and performance management.
