Overview

We are seeking an experienced Controller with a strong background in residential development to oversee our financial operations. The ideal candidate will have expertise in financial management, accounting, and reporting within the residential development sector. This role is vital in maintaining the financial health and success of our projects and overall business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Management and Reporting:
    • Oversee all financial aspects of residential development projects
    • Prepare and analyze financial statements such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
    • Develop and maintain budgets for projects and the company
    • Implement internal controls for accuracy and compliance
    • Provide financial reports and analysis to management and stakeholders
    • Manage month-end and year-end closing processes
  • Project Financial Planning and Analysis:
    • Collaborate with project managers to develop financial plans for each project
    • Conduct feasibility studies and financial modeling for new projects
    • Monitor project costs and revenues, addressing variances
    • Analyze project profitability and ROI
    • Support financial decisions throughout project life cycles
  • Cash Flow Management:
    • Manage cash flow for projects and the company
    • Create and maintain cash flow forecasts
    • Optimize working capital and liquidity
    • Maintain relationships with banks and financial institutions
  • Risk Management:
    • Identify and assess financial risks in projects
    • Develop risk mitigation strategies
    • Monitor risk indicators and report findings
    • Ensure compliance with financial regulations
  • Tax Planning and Compliance:
    • Oversee tax strategies and compliance
    • Work with tax advisors to optimize tax planning
    • Ensure timely tax filings
    • Stay updated on tax law changes affecting our industry
  • Financial Systems and Process Improvement:
    • Evaluate and implement financial software
    • Develop financial policies and procedures
    • Enhance financial processes and controls
    • Train finance team members on best practices
  • Stakeholder Communication:
    • Prepare and present financial reports to the board, investors, and stakeholders
