Main Purpose of Job

Maryland Recovery Net (MDRN) develops partnerships with service providers statewide and funds access to recovery support services for individuals with substance use/co-occurring disorders treatment and recovery support needs. Services are designed to assist recipients in remaining engaged in their recovery while promoting independence, self-sufficiency, and stability.

The main purpose of this full-time contractual position is to monitor housing services of approved MDRN recovery residence providers.

This position plays a significant role in the mission of the Maryland Department of Health, Behavioral Health Administration, Treatment and Recovery Services Division. The mission of MDH’s BHA is to develop an integrated process for planning, policy and services to ensure a coordinated quality system of care is available to individuals with behavioral health conditions. BHA through publicly funded services and support will promote recovery, resiliency and health and wellness for individuals who have or are at risk for emotional, substance use, addictive and/or psychiatric disorders.

This position will ensure appropriate, effective, and quality services are being provided to individuals who have substance use disorders.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Education:

    Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
  • Experience:

    Three years of administrative staff or professional work.
  • Notes:
  • Candidates may substitute 30 college credit hours from an accredited college or university for each year up to two years of the required experience.
  • Candidates may substitute the possession of a Bachelor's degree from a college or university for the required experience.
  • Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer involving staff work that included the regular use of independent judgment and analysis in applying and interpreting complex administrative plans, policies, rules or regulations or analysis of operational programs or procedures with recommendations for improvement on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.

  • Professional administrative experience working in a health services treatment setting specific to addictions
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills, verbal and written
Licenses, Registrations, and Certifications

Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.
