Class DescriptionThe purpose of this role is to provide professional level interpretation services to assigned departments or programs.
Minimum RequirementsNational Certification through the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf and a minimum of three years' experience working as a professional sign language interpreter.
Class Specific Essential Duties- Serve as designated interpreter to full-time deaf faculty.
- Interpret at annual college events.
- Interpret for college courses taught by deaf faculty.
- Interpret for deaf faculty at committee meetings.
- Interpret for deaf faculty at ad‑hoc meetings.
- Keep track of all hours and schedule.
- Team effectively with an agency interpreter when needed.
Essential Job Duties are examples and not all inclusive. Additional duties may be assigned.
