Role Overview
Our Tesco colleague rate of pay starts from £13.28 an hour; this increases to £14.55 for stores within the M25. Additional payments may also apply depending on location.
We offer new colleagues a minimum of 16 guaranteed hours per week, with a flexible option of up to 12 hours if desired. Your shifts will be scheduled within the availability windows we advertise, and you will receive three weeks’ notice of your exact shift times.
Responsibilities- Know your customers and serve them with passion and pride.
- Be knowledgeable about the products and services in the store.
- Work across the store in service, picking, and replenishment areas.
- Apply training to work safely, effectively, and deliver excellent customer service.
- Make decisions that are right for customers and manage store routines.
- Participate in seasonal, community and charity events to create an inclusive atmosphere.
- Understand store performance, reduce waste and shrink, and help drive service and sales.
- Handle products with care to maintain quality.
- Live Tesco’s values, make everyone feel welcome, and follow policies.
- Accept deliveries into the store when required.
- A passion for delivering great service and greeting customers with a smile.
- The ability to build rapport and ensure customers leave satisfied.
- The initiative and decision‑making skills to support customers.
- A team player who communicates openly.
- A commitment to punctuality, presentation, and brand ambassadorship.
- Holiday: 20 days plus a personal day, rising to 22 days after 12 months (plus Bank holidays).
