Part Time Level II Special Education Paraprofessional – South Elementary

Iron County School District is hiring a Part‑time Level II Special Education Paraprofessional to work 27.5 hours per week at South Elementary.

Responsibilities

• Provide instructional support to students with disabilities, reinforcing learning activities.
• Observe and record behavior patterns; implement behavior management plans.
• Assist certified educators with presentation of learning materials and instructional exercise.
• Support students with physical and medical needs, including self‑care skills such as toilet training, bathing, and personal cleanliness; assist with feeding and diapering if required.
• Participate in development, maintenance, and implementation of classroom management systems.
• Guide students in working and interacting harmoniously with peers; supervise students in all school areas.
• Operate office equipment such as computers and copy machines.
• Maintain regular, reliable, predictable attendance and job performance.
• Monitor students inside and outside the building during lunch hour.
• Use basic computer tools, including Google Docs; check email frequently; learn and use all computer systems and software as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience working with students with disabilities in a classroom or school setting.
• Knowledge of behavior management and instructional strategies for students with special needs.
• Ability to lift and support students, change protective clothing, and operate adaptive equipment.
• Strong communication skills with students, parents, and staff.
• Basic computer literacy; familiarity with Google Docs and email.
• Willingness to learn and use all computer systems and software as required.
