Location will be in St. George, Utah. 36 hours a week, Monday through Friday. The Head Start teacher, along with their teaching team, is responsible for classroom operation including individualized planning and implementation for students, maintaining a safe classroom environment, and engaging appropriate behavior management strategies. The teacher supervises a class of up to 20 children aged 3 to 5 years old.

Essential Functions- Responsible for day‑to‑day set up of classroom and planning and implementing curriculum, including individualizing for children, monitoring development and ensuring accurate data is collected.
- Provide a positive classroom environment through building relationships, implementing age‑appropriate expectations and allowing for child‑directed opportunities.
- Demonstrate and model good health, nutrition, safety and behavior management practices.
- Maintain accurate classroom inventory and regularly clean and disinfect classroom and playground area.
- Attend required training and implement practices, procedures and expectations.
- Support parents/guardians in their role as primary educator of their child through an engaging relationship. Conduct at least two parent‑teacher conferences and home visits each year. Ensure screenings, assessments and evaluations are completed and reviewed with parents.
- Coordinate with family advocate on parent meetings, attends and presents classroom updates and training.
- Other duties assigned by supervisor.
- Associate Degree in Early Childhood or related field required.
- Early childhood experience required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood or related field.
- Experience with Google Suite, Zoom and general computer knowledge.
Position is contingent on funding.
