DescriptionTutors for the Utah Health Scholars (UHS) Program provide one‑on‑one tutoring services to students who are members of the UHS Program. Tutoring is offered free of charge to UHS students and tutors are paid $12/hour. Tutors may cover a variety of subjects including general chemistry, general biology, physics, organic chemistry, calculus, ecology, anatomy, physiology, microbiology, genetics, histology, nutrition, psychology, sociology, and trigonometry.
Students must have taken the course at SUU, received a B+ or higher, and enjoy teaching the subject.
- Schedule tutoring sessions individually with UHS members requesting services.
- Respond quickly to student inquiries via phone or email.
- Report weekly to the UHS office how many hours were spent on tutoring, for which students, and for what subject(s).
- Act as a model student of the UHS program with dedication to health careers, academic focus, and professional demeanor.
- Member of the Utah Health Scholars Program.
- Have already taken and received a B+ or better in the subject they will be tutoring.
- Current full‑time student at SUU.
- Position may be Work‑Study eligible.
