Operations Supervisor (Job Coach) Cedar City, UT, Deseret Industries
Location:

Store Associate Leadership:
- Lead, manage, and mentor 12-25 store associates with diverse barriers to employment.
- Coordinate store associate plan of care with Development Counseling Services.
- Implement behavior management and de‑escalation strategies to drive performance.
- Manage training program schedule, time management, and soft skills.
- Lead team in retail sales, merchandising, complex warehouse operations, and donation center logistics.
- Maintain confidential database of current work and productivity behaviors.
- Instruct, monitor, and provide feedback on critical work standards (time, attendance, communication, leadership, honesty, reliability).
- Provide weekly assessments of work behaviors and quarterly evaluations.
- Drive improvements using data from observations.
- Give input to individual development plans.
- Model work behaviors (attendance, punctuality, task focus, work quality, pace).
- Supervise retail store operations in merchandising, inventory, and donation processing.
- Handle complex customer needs regarding policies, pricing, and donations.
- Supervise donation center logistics (supplies, product flow, staffing).
- Make immediate judgments on hazardous donations per OSHA guidelines.
- Oversee safety protocols and respond to incidents.
- Manage POS operations (cash handling, vouchers, deposits).
- Supervise cashier teams for internal control compliance.
- Partner with management to ensure compliance with store standards.
- Regularly supervise work of store associates.
- Provide suggestions and recommendations for hiring, firing, advancement, promotion, or changes of status.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, education, social work, or related field. Or equivalent level of education and experience.
- Three years’ experience in training, education, or business settings including retail, warehouse, or customer service operations. Or equivalent.
- Demonstrated experience in teaching, training, and/or supervision.
- Ability to regularly lift 50 pounds, walk, stand for long periods, bend, twist, climb as needed.
- Strong customer service experience and ability to interface with diverse demographics.
Skills And Abilities:
- Strong written and oral communication.
- Clear direction and follow-through with delegated assignments.
- Hold direct reports accountable.
- Implement solutions to challenges.
- Lead and supervise team of store associates with barriers to employment.
- Data‑driven decisions and solutions.
- Interface with technology (computers, MS software, PCS/Inventory systems).
