Intermountain Health is seeking a certified Advanced Practice Provider (PA or NP) licensed in Utah to join our Hospitalist team at Cedar City Hospital.

$56.00/hr – $87.00/hr

This position is allocated for an APP with a PA or NP license. The role focuses on managing adult and pediatric patients on general medicine floors, working with a multidisciplinary team of physicians, nurses, dietitians, pharmacists, and case managers to provide optimal patient care.

• Shift times vary by month; split with co‑APPs, mostly days; holidays and weekends rotate with the group.
• Approximately 15 shifts per month.

• Conduct comprehensive assessments, including history and physical examinations.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate treatment plans in collaboration with attending physicians.
• Manage acute and chronic medical conditions and initiate appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic interventions.
• Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated patient care.
• Facilitate communication between patients, families, and healthcare teams.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record.
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, regulatory requirements, and best‑practice standards.
• Participate in ongoing professional development and continuing education.
• Engage in quality improvement initiatives within the hospitalist program and hospital.
• Participate in hospital committees, task forces, and meetings as required.

• Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) in Utah.
• Board certification as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP), Family Medicine Nurse Practitioner (FNP), or Physician Assistant (PA‑C).
• DEA Certificate II through V.
• ACLS and BLS certification for healthcare providers.
• PALS certification for healthcare providers.

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience working as an inpatient APP (preferred).

• Strong clinical decision‑making and critical‑thinking skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast‑paced, high‑acuity environment.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Commitment to patient‑centered care and continuous improvement.

• Ability to work in a hospital environment that may involve exposure to infectious diseases and high‑stress situations.
• Read and interpret information, labels, and patient needs; operate monitors and identify equipment and supplies.
• Communicate verbally with patient care providers, patients, and visitors; understand spoken information and alarms promptly and accurately.
• Manipulate complex and delicate equipment with manual dexterity; frequent computer use and typing for documentation.
• May be required to stand in a stationary position for extended periods.
