Overview
The University of Northern Iowa’s Rod Library seeks applications for a three-year term Assistant Professor of Instruction and Information Literacy & Liaison Librarian position, starting in August 2025. The Information Literacy & Liaison Librarian is an 11-month appointment and reports to the Associate University Librarian for Learning and Research. This position will likely liaise with the Wilson College of Business and/or the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences.
Responsibilities- Work closely as a liaison to departments, courses and students across campus through teaching in its information literacy program, providing research consultations and general reference support, creating and maintaining online course guides and instructional media, and other academic outreach.
- Teach within the library’s burgeoning credit-course program which includes classes on information literacy and artificial intelligence.
- Requirements: ALA-accredited Master’s degree in library or information science or international equivalent; demonstrated interest in and commitment to teaching and library instruction; demonstrated willingness and ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with coworkers and campus community; excellent oral and written communication skills; and demonstrated interest in working collaboratively across disciplines required.
- Preferred Qualifications: Instructional experience and interest in credit-based library instruction preferred.
