The Iowa Board of Regents is seeking a full‑time (100%) Staff Auditor (Professional & Scientific job classification) in the Office of Internal Audit. This position will be responsible for planning and conducting a wide variety of internal audits by evaluating operational and business processes for appropriate internal controls and compliance with various policies and regulations; identify areas of process risk and recommend specific steps for improvement;
conduct follow‑up review of audited areas and programs to ensure management has taken appropriate corrective actions. This person must have the ability to map out processes to define gaps in internal controls and/or efficiencies and be able to make value‑added recommendations for improvements to senior leaders on campus.
The position will report up through the Board’s Chief Audit Executive, be located at the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls, Iowa, and be eligible for a hybrid work model.

QualificationsRequired Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in a business, accounting or information technology field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- One to three years applicable experience.
- Ability to critically assess business policies, procedures, and practices.
- Proficiency in professional verbal and written communication.
- Experience with data gathering and analysis tools, techniques, and processes.
- Capable of project management to meet required deadlines.
- Sufficient knowledge and ability to utilize Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc…)
- At least one year of audit experience.
- CPA, CMA, CIA or CISA designation.
- Extensive knowledge of internal audit processes.
- Basic proficiency applying organizational acumen to identify and maintain focus on key success factors for the organization.
- Knowledge of Workday functionality and controls.
$55,000 to $70,000
