Job Summary

We are looking for a Medication Technician to support resident care within our branch, ensuring medication needs are met in a compassionate and dignified manner.

Responsibilities
  • Accurately following the resident MAR to ensure medications are given out according to physician orders.
  • Understand and follow the “Six rights of medication administration” and all Bickford policies and procedures regarding medication management.
  • Use the eMAR system for medication administration.
  • Communicate appropriately with clinical leadership for clarification and direction regarding resident medication administration.
  • Provide direct resident care and supervise resident care work of non-licensed team members as appropriate.
  • Lead by demonstrating Bickford Mission “Whatever it Takes” to all other team members on shift.
Qualifications
  • Active Medication Technician Certification in good standing or at least one year of experience in senior care.
  • Approved Medication Manager Certificate from the Department of Inspection and Appeals.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Willing to take additional training or education as required by specific states.
  • Must have CPR and First Aid certifications.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Competent in organizational and time management skills.
  • Demonstrates good judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to utilize or learn Bickford’s eMAR system to administer medications.
