Our Operations team in Cedar Falls, IA, is looking for experienced Machinists to work across manufacturing processes to produce pumps with attention to safety, quality, cost, and delivery.

Jobs are filled on a seniority basis; specific job assignments may vary depending on position availability.

Minimum starting pay is $22.57 or greater, depending on the specific job assignment, plus a $1 per hour shift premium for 2nd and 3rd shifts. Wage adjustments occur every 90 days, and all benefits start after 60 days.

Shift hours:

• First Shift: 6:45 am - 2:45 pm
• Second Shift: 2:45 pm - 10:45 pm
• Third Shift: 10:45 pm - 6:45 am

Due to the nature of the products currently being manufactured at Viking Pump, we adhere to International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Therefore, only US Persons are eligible for employment.

Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Set up and operate Manual Lathe, Manual Mill, NC Lathe, NC Mill, Machine Cells, Fork Truck, Stand Up Truck, hand tools, or other equipment required by manufacturing processes.
• Follow operational details from drawings, routing sheets, setup sheets, CNC programs, and work instructions.
• Check tooling condition and performance for optimal results.
• Follow safety guidelines and procedures.
• Adhere to quality standards.
• Work mandatory overtime as needed.

Education and Experience Requirements:

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate Degree or CNC machining technical certificate preferred.
• Minimum 2 years in an industrial manufacturing environment required.

Other Requirements:

• Ability to use gauges and measuring instruments to meet tolerances.
• Ability to read blueprints.
• Properly align, secure, and remove part fixtures and materials onto machines.
• Check machined parts against prints using measuring devices like micrometers, CMM, calipers, gauges, etc.

Work Environment:

• Stand for up to 10 hours per day.
• Lift up to 35 pounds regularly and up to 70 pounds periodically.
• Move within the office and manufacturing complex; write by hand and keyboard.
• Communicate verbally and in writing.
• Visual acuity for detailed work and computer use.
• Work in manufacturing, warehouse, and office environments.
• Exposed to elements, but not continuously to an unpleasant extent.
