• 1st Shift: 6:00am – 2:30pm Monday‑Friday
Position PurposeBCI Cedar Falls is looking for a qualified teammate who values taking pride in their work, enjoys a team environment, and strives to be the best. On this team, you will be responsible for assisting all activities associated with safely operating equipment; including, but not limited to setup, operation, and cleanup.
Main Duties- Full‑time role in a manufacturing plant/warehouse setting
- Follow established safety rules, policies and procedures at all times
- Operate printing presses and/or die cutters to make a variety of corrugated products
- Monitor product quality and ensure that the quality control systems are being utilized properly
- Drive production and efficiency of assigned machine center
- Record production statistics within our ERP system
- Become knowledgeable of paper properties, setting up a press and managing colors
- Maintain machine to ensure all preventative maintenance has been completed by the scheduled time
- Ensure that equipment is clean and organized
- Ensure that all safety guards are in place and operate properly on the machine
- Assist in training new associates to safely perform their duties in the most efficient way possible while upholding the highest quality standards
- Recommend changes in methods, equipment, material handling and similar projects for improvements in efficiencies or standards of practice
- Promote morale and wellness of Crew Members
- Other tasks as assigned by supervisor
Skills & Qualifications
- Machine operator or other manufacturing operator experience preferred
- Quality and results oriented
- Ability to read a tape measure with speed and accuracy
- Ability to understand and follow both verbal and written instructions
- Works well with others in a team setting
- Shows dependability on the job
- Demonstrates a professional attitude and even‑tempered response through interactions with others
- Comprehend and apply basic instructions furnished in written, oral or graphic form
- Ability to solve problems involving one or more concrete variables in standardized situations
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds – regularly
- Stand, walk and communicate with others (both speaking and listening) – regularly
- Use hands to adjust, manipulate and feel product – frequently
- Reach with hands and arms – frequently
- Stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl – frequently
- Sit – occasionally
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
