Responsibilities- Communicate with leadership regarding encounters and investigations
- Maintain professional relationships with local authorities, law enforcement, and other retailers
- Collaborate to identify organized retail crime threats
- Assist leadership with cash handling and transfers
- Observe customers and associates for potential theft or fraud and act accordingly
- Conduct surveillance, apprehend suspects, and maintain all records per company standards
- Monitor CCTV, conduct on‑site interviews, and maintain knowledge of equipment
- Monitor store compliance with theft deterrence, safety, and operational controls
- Mitigate security risks to provide a safer environment for employees and customers
- Assist customers, visitors, and vendors in locating staff and accessing facilities
- Tag property brought into stores and manage essential equipment
- Perform floor and exterior walks to ensure safety and security
- Complete monthly safety reports
- Assist with vehicle breakdowns, lock‑outs, and cart retrieval
- React to shoplifting, medical emergencies, and inclement weather
- Work a schedule that may include evenings, weekends, and holidays
- High school diploma, GED, or college graduate preferred
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- 2–3 years of loss prevention experience preferred
- CPR and OC (pepper spray) certification or willingness to obtain
- Approach tasks with energy, urgency, and respect for Scheels
- Demonstrate teaching readiness and adaptability to change
- Show integrity, dedication, and a genuine interest in helping others
- Maintain professional grooming and attire in alignment with Scheels standards
- Deliver work with pride, ownership, and timely deadlines
- High School Diploma, GED; college degree preferred
- Proven communication and organizational skills
- Prior loss prevention experience (2–3 years) preferred
- CPR and OC certification or willingness to obtain
Night, weekend, and early morning shifts as required by business needs.
Physical Requirements /LiftingMust sit, stand, bend, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, walk, push/pull, lift, talk, and hear with or without reasonable accommodation. Exert 20–100 pounds of force depending on task.
